Wood for Interior Joinery & Fit-Outs
Fit-out work prioritises stability, surface finish and speed. We supply the full stack: structural panels, decorative surfaces and solid timber accents.
In short
Interior joinery — wardrobes, panelling, doors and built-ins — is best served by stable engineered panels (plywood, MDF, block board) finished with veneers or laminates, plus solid hardwood for visible frames and trims.
Recommended wood species

White Oak
HardwoodQuercus alba
White oak (Quercus alba) is a strong, dense hardwood with a pale tan colour and prominent straight grain. Its closed (tyloses-filled) pores make it water-resistant, so it is favoured for flooring, furniture, cabinetry and cooperage.

American Walnut
HardwoodJuglans nigra
American walnut (Juglans nigra) is a premium dark hardwood with rich chocolate-brown heartwood, straight grain and excellent workability — the go-to species for luxury furniture, cabinetry and decorative veneers.

Burma Teak
HardwoodTectona grandis

Mahalaxmi WoodcraftCommercial Plywood
Commercial (MR-grade) plywood is a moisture-resistant engineered panel made from cross-bonded wood veneers — a strong, stable, cost-effective substrate for furniture, cabinetry and interior fit-outs.
Mahalaxmi WoodcraftBlock Board
Block board is an engineered panel with a core of solid wood battens sandwiched between veneers — lighter and more resistant to bending than plywood over long spans, ideal for shutters, shelves and table tops.
Nobel LaminateDecorative Laminate
Decorative laminate is a hard-wearing surfacing sheet of resin-impregnated papers fused under heat and pressure — used to give furniture and panels a durable, scratch-resistant, easy-to-clean finish in wood-grain, solid and textured designs.

Natural Wood Veneer
Natural veneer is a thin slice of real wood bonded to a panel substrate — delivering the authentic grain and warmth of solid timber (teak, walnut, oak and more) on a stable, economical base.
Key considerations
- Use BWR/BWP plywood in kitchens, bathrooms and other damp zones.
- Block board resists sagging on long shelves and tall shutters.
- Laminates for high-traffic, easy-clean surfaces; veneers for a premium natural look.
FAQ
What material is best for wardrobes?
Most wardrobes use MR or BWR plywood / block board carcasses finished with laminate or veneer. Block board is favoured for tall shutters because it resists bowing.
